Sketch eight ideas
Explore several small solutions to the same problem before choosing one.
Crazy 8s is a fast way to create options without getting attached to the first idea. Fold a sheet of paper into eight sections or use a board. Spend about one minute on each section, drawing or writing a different response to the same problem.
Ideas can be small: change a button label, simplify a layout, add an onboarding hint, or sketch a screen. Keep the original problem in view, work quickly, and save judgment for later.
Try it
- Restate the one problem you chose.
- Make eight small ideas for solving that same problem.
- Compare the ideas against your hypothesis and choose one to test.
