Warm-ups and storylines
The online qualifier includes general warm-up challenges and a multi-phase storyline. In the storyline, teams must complete one phase to unlock the next. Solved challenges may also contain clues or narrative details that help with later puzzles. The briefing explains the phase system, how one phase unlocks the next, and how clues connect across challenges.
Guided challenges
Some technical challenges are made up of consecutive questions. Teams need to complete every step to earn the challenge’s points; the session says partial credit is not awarded for these guided tasks. The guided format and its all-steps scoring rule are described in the recording.
